Police roleplay scenarios
Scenarios are the heart of academy training: supervised roleplay exercises where cadets apply what they learned in lessons. This public library shows the kinds of scenarios cadets practice and the skills each one builds. Full briefs, grading checklists and scenario scheduling unlock after enrollment.
Example scenarios
Routine traffic stop — expired registration
A cadet initiates a stop for an expired registration, practices safe vehicle positioning, radio traffic and a professional driver contact, then decides between a warning and a citation.
Verbal dispute between neighbors
Two parties argue over a property line. The cadet separates the parties, gathers statements and uses calm communication to lower the temperature without an arrest.
Store alarm after closing
Dispatch sends the cadet to a nighttime alarm. Working with a partner, the cadet checks the perimeter, calls for backup when a door is found open and clears the building methodically.
Intoxicated driver at a checkpoint
During a checkpoint detail, a driver shows signs of impairment. The cadet runs standardized observations, documents each step and makes an arrest decision.
Missing person report at a public event
A parent reports a missing child during a crowded event. The cadet gathers a description, coordinates a search grid with other units and keeps the family informed.
Pursuit decision and termination
A vehicle flees a stop. In a supervised exercise, the cadet weighs the pursuit policy criteria, decides when to continue or terminate and articulates the reasoning afterward.
How scenario training works
Scenario brief
Every scenario starts with a written brief: setting, roles, safety rules and the skills being graded. Cadets know the goal before the exercise begins.
Roleplayers and instructors
Certified instructors play the public, run the dispatch channel and pause the exercise to coach. Scenarios are graded against a practical checklist.
Debrief and grading
After the exercise, cadets review what went well and what to fix. Scenario results feed the overall course grade inside the academy.
